How do you store those expensive lenses

I worry about lens fungus. After watching a youtube video, the suggestion was not in my camera bag. The claim was TNT this promotes fungus. Setting with a couple grand in glass. I,m worrier. Do I need to keep them in a plastic tub,with moisture absorber. Or is this overkill. Would. Really like some responses. Thanks Ed

Mine stay in my bags; that said, the best preventative is use. Sunlight prevents the fungus, so just shoot lots. I don't think it's nearly as much of a problem with modern lenses as it used to be; I can't remember the last time I heard of even a remotely new-ish lens getting fungus'd (if ever).

Between shoots, mine live in a Pelican hard case, which is waterproof and airproof. I keep some silica gel inside as insurance against paranoia.

Fungus is a huge problem in places like Thailand, Viet Nam, Malaysia, etc.etc....and any place that has a monsoon season. Do they have that in Kentucky? They do? Oh, come on Ed, they do not have that! I didn't say moonshine season, I said mon-sooooon season!!!!

I live in the Pacific Northwest, where it's pretty wet and rainy and somewhat humid for 8 months out of 12...never had a lens get fungus. Ever.

These silica canisters are re-usable by putting them in the oven a low a fairly low temperature.
They will prevent fungus by absorbing excess moisture in your camera bag.
They change color when they need to have the moisture they have absorbed cooked out, so they can absorb more.
