This damn lens weighs 100 frickin pounds....how do you even justify paying that kind of money and lugging that around???? Holy crap dude....insane.

It's not meant for normal uses--it's a proof of concept and a prestige design for Sigma.

The only logiacal use I can think of for that lense is to take family portraits during Christmas time, and only Christmas time! I mean, I always get angry when I want a picture of the person across the room, and obviously the 18-55mm kit lense I have is NOT sufficient!

Canon made a 1200 5.6. Years ago in Canada when you wanted to get it from Canon it came with the pro rep to watch over it. It was around $85k at the time. This Sigma has it's uses, would be great for some things as long as you didn't have to move around too much.
