how is this for focus???

i keep hearing my photos are not well focused so i am working on it! What do you think of the focus on this one? I thought it was ok, thanks.

Sorry soft but what was your shutter speed ? i think it was to slow

You are 1/50th @ 50mm on a crop body... too slow if your handheld without VR. Focus looks just a tad off, perhaps behind the eyes... but it's very close. It's going to be tough to nail it at 2.8. Try 4.0.
