How much would my Camera be worth?

I am looking to sell my D7000 and lenses in my sig to buy a full framed camera. I think I will be buying a 5D Mark II.
What do you think the realistic asking price would be for my gear?

edit: PS what country are you in? Without a clue on that people can't pitch in about price; though if you look on ebay for the completed listings you can get some idea for what the market is willing to pay for your various bits of gear. If you want to shop trade in expect to get a lot less (since the shop has to make a profit themselves).

Since you're already in the Nikon family...why not get a D700? Besides being able to keep your lenses, it has some nice advantages over the 5DmkII. (and I'm a 5DmkII owner)

I agree with Mike. I have a 5d2 and I have issues with it when compared to my other cameras. It has some serious shortcomings. And the 5d3 is much awaited... 5D Mark III Information [CR1]

I find myself using my 7D over my 5d2 often... Think hard about the camera you are choosing.

Im in the US. There's a little over 8k on the shutter. The reason why I want to jump to Canon is the video capability. I have been very interested in the D700 as well, but I figured the 5DmII was better.

Im not going to bash the 5D MKII at all (i have one and love it) but there is only one thing i would warn about. The AF system is slow and not always spot on. That is a huge benefit of the 7D is the 7D has the newer AF system. However if you are not shooting in low light a lot (ie weddings)the 5D should be fine, the 5D has nice video capability.

If the D800 wasn't going to be $3500, I would wait for it.

While we all love the idea of a full frame (those of us that dont have one that is), you say there is only 8k shots on your camera so you have not done very much with it. Just be sure that you are not wasting money for the sake of a new camera that you don't need. I sometimes get the itch to buy when i read to many reviews.By all accounts you have the best crop camera currently available (image quality wise).

That is impossible with digital, unless you buy top of the line lenses

Why do you say it is impossible? And yes I do plan on buying top of the line lenses.

It's simply impossible to "future proof" in digital. You will buy the 5d2 now and the 5d3 will be released this spring. And in 2 years the 5d4 or whatever comes next... About the only that is future resistant is high end lenses. Those last you for 10, 15, 20 years. Camera bodies come and go every 2 years.

5 years maybe, not 2. 5 years is future proofing to me.

The D7000 is a far newer camera than the 5D2. 5d2=2008; D7000=2010
This just doesn't make a lot of sense. If you are talking 5 years you have until 2015 with the D7000 and 2013 with the 5d2-which already has a problem riddled focus system and the D7000 doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, I do love my 5d2, but I am NOT loving it's focus system compared to the rest of my cameras and after using the D7000's focus system I think you will be disappointed. Especially in low light situations. Sports and fast moving? I rarely use my 5D2 for those things because of it's issues. It doesn't hold up. Now weddings or portraits I love it.

Just please rent or borrow for a week before you make this decision. I really think you are going to regret it.
