How would you achieve this result?

Hey Guys,

I always look at these photos and am stoked with the effect they get

Its obvious they use a shoe mounted flash to get that type of exposure so would the rest be a quick batch edit in PS to get that desaturated raw look?
Do you think they shoot in raw and use a custom white balance?

Looks like a boost in contrast and a bit of desaturation on an overly orange white balance.

I'd set my white balance in the club, then get up in peoples face and blast them. I'd barely tweak one, then apply to the rest (LR3).
