Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Would you use the rule of thirds, or center the subjects (being the people) or would you leave it like it is? I know what I would think would look nice, but have met some opposing opinions in the past with some of my shots, so would like opinions. Thanks!

It's kinda already following the RoT's.

What crop were you thinking of?

I would turn the camera a little and get maybe a half to a fourth of the lifeguard thing in the photo, which would place your subjects in the left third. Use a high f stop to get all that mountainy goodness in focus!

Well the picture has already been shot, I can try to post-process some of the detail in the mountains. Hmmm... (((thinking)))

Five reasons not to leave it alone.
1. The live wire from the weather head atop the guard tower runs through the top right corner of the image.
2. The image is crooked.
3. the lifeguard shack is cut off anyway before any cropping to remove more of it.
4. Lifeguard shack appears to be on the verge of falling over onto the photographer and his model.
5. The crop only improves the composition of this image.

My 2 cents, doesn't mean much.. I like the picture..

where in Ca was that taken?

When looking to crop an image, consider whether or not you plan to print it, and if you do, then pay attention to the restrictions for your intended printable image size (IE 8x10, 5x7, etc), and stick with it for your ratios. A free, unristricted crop will look good on the screen, but wont print well.

Apparently, I think every single photo needs to be a vertical, so I'd crop it like this:

Since everything I am doing at this point is for either practice or just to share on my website or flickr, nothing is being printed.
