Hey everyone. I'm new to photography, will soon be acquiring a Nikon D90 that my dad doesn't use a couple a couple lenses. Looking to possibly make a career out of photography, but everyone has to start somewhere. Any tips and tricks are much appreciated.

Hello there, Retrac! Welcome to The Photo Forum. The D90 sounds like an excellent starting point. I guess I can give you two hopefully useful things at this stage. First, study up on the exposure triangle and basic composition techniques like the rule of thirds. Second, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.

How's about you post to the "beginner's forum" and tell us more about the lenses you have. It will open up some new possibilities, I'm thinking.
