Hummers with Flash

1/250, f8, flash at 1/4 power approx. 12 ft. from feeder, 30 degrees left of camera. 500mm at 25 ft.
Wings are nearly stopped, but this is not hovering. The little beggars refused to cooperate in front of the flash. Will keep trying.

I wish they'd visit my feeder; I hear them high overhead now and then but I think they're afraid of my dog or something.

I might suggest, since you know exactly what angle you're shooting from, you could prepare the background with a piece of solid-color fabric or something else less busy than the trellis. The flash looks good and the angle of it seems just right to me.
