Hydrophobia Mark II a la D800

Hey everyone! I've shot another "hydrophobia" series. This time, with my D800. I think they're really alot better than my last set of the same subject material seen here. I won't go into too much detail on here. There will be a full writeup on my blog tomorrow. I'll post a link when I get the post finished. I'm posting my favorites here for a bit of critique, if you don't mind. So, Enjoy!

Again, sorry for the enormous amount of photos. But, I'd love to hear your thoughts on your favorites and your least favorites (why is nice too).

I like 1 and 3.

For me, it's about the color combinations. This is very subjective though and people will differ on what looks best based on their own personal taste.

Apart from the color, there needs to be a good balance of size and shape for the image to be appealing.
Too many small bubbles is unpleasant to my eye.
Not enough variation is boring.

For what it's worth, posting too many of these at once lessens the impact of all of them.
Pick 3 or 4 that are your best or which represent your most varied presentations.

Thank you. I took into account the colors when putting together this selection.

1) Red + Green = Complementary
2) Yellow + Green = Analogous
3) Red + Blue just contrast nicely
4-5) Orange + Blue = Complementary
7) Yellow + Green = Analogous
Yellow + Purple = Complementary
8-11) Orange + Yellow = Monochrome
12-13) Chose these because of their etherial-esque aspects

I know the combinations HAVING titles doesn't necessarily make them look nice, but I really did think the colors look nice together in most of them.

As for the amount of photos, I know all about posting too many photos. I've advised many against just the same action. Again, I know this doesn't make the action any better in the first place, but just letting you know that I am aware.

This may seem like I'm trying to downplay your criticism, and I really don't want it to. Thank you kindly for your words, and I'll take it into consideration! It almost makes me feel like I chose the exact opposite of the photos that I should have to post. I have an equal number of "keepers" that I chose not to include.

Every non-cyber human I've shown this to said the same thing.

Looking back, I really chose alot of these because I was pretty proud of their composition. That it wasn't just a billion circles in rows, like some psychedelic bubble wrap. I really liked the way most of them have a clear focal point, the proper leading lines, and, at time, pictures within the picture (last 2). I think the smaller bubbles add an extra dynamic that adds depth and substance to the photograph and really make it a photograph, and not a pretty picture. I was enthralled. But, maybe that's just the same effect that parents have with their new baby. And maybe not. That's why I post them here. Keep the critiques coming! I love hearing them.

Great stuff. To me, many of the images seem to have come from space, celestial bodies in different galaxies ... undiscovered dimensions ... alternate time ... the birth of our universe. I keep returning to your images just to stare them ... again and again.

They are really wonderful by every means.... i don't select any because they fascinate me alike; i may take out one if you want... i feel something bad about #12...the oblong-ness or something of that orbiting planet and its white light from behind, giving a cut and paste feeling.... the rest, you rock !!! :thumbsup:
