And the lake was not in a quiet mood, it rarely is as you said : ) I left the shutter open over 3 minutes to smooth out the water.

Ah that explains it. Then I'd say you REALLY did a great job. Might have to copy you and try something similar, but I have only 2x ND filters, may need much more density to get the duration you did. Thanks for inspiring!
