I have been doing some black & Whites of my dog.. what do you thinK

Just put together a few photos of my collie's black & white... it is all new to me but i try it every now and then.. i actually like the look of black and white in some photos over color.. but it all depends on the photo..theres is "no one" better to practice on Then Lucky...thanks

The motion is ok but the dog is facing away. The second is great and the third is a hanger. Nice job.

Yep, I would go with the 2nd and 3rd. I much prefer seeing the dogs face than it butt lol.

As mentioned above 3 is my pic.

As for the aimed away moment in the first pic, this is exactly where I see the issue. A few seconds earlier/later to get the eye engagement makes all the difference. I know It doesn't always work out that way but physiological science will show the having the eye looking towards (not always at) the camera will cause people to perceive more engagement of an image.
The image is great, just wish you were on the other side.

Overall a great set.

Hmm, may I suggest backing off the sharpening, I find the first two almost painful to look at the third one is borderline. Try a faster shutter speed and ISO for a fast moving pup so the sharpening in post doesn't have too try and recover missed focus and movement. Great looking dog though.

Very nice in B&W. Maybe try to get him from a side view to show some action. It's the timing and using a fast shutter speed. I've found doing sports and events it can take some waiting and watching to capture just the right moment, and if you miss one good moment there will be another one coming along, just keep watching for one.

That last one is definitely a keeper, makes me want to reach out and pet all that fluff! he looks like he was just brushed.
