I liked this session better over-exposed...thoughts?

I don't know what it is, but my eye just seems to prefer overexposure sometimes. As I was editing this session it seems I did 2 versions of each. One correctly exposed, then I cranked up the exposure and seemed to like that better.

I just want to know your thoughts on which exposure you prefer.

How about the right one with exposure adjustment brush to make the subject brighter? I would also warm up the WB.

I definitely prefer the correctly exposed photo. However, you could do some selective adjustments to make their faces/skin brighter.

I'm leaning towards the over exposed look. The WB could use a little tweaking but personally I like the brighter look.

Yep.

In the future I might consider some fill flash.

Thanks guys. I'm going to re-work them both I think and see if I can come up with something better using adjustment layers.

I definitely tried for fill flash...and I actually had a reflector set up, but where we were shooting is pretty much a bog, it's the Squamish Estuary. The ground was extremely uneven and completely overgrown, so pretty much whereever you stepped your feet got buried by grass and weeds. I couldn't use the reflector because I had no one to hold it for me (boyfriend usually helps but he was off doing something else) and I TRIED setting up my flash unit but it just was not happening to use off-camera on the uneven ground.
