Winston (the goat) is one of my absolute favorites--he's easily the sweetest goat I've ever met. And the horse is beautiful too.

Cheers!

Jake your shots are both on the bluish side. Can you fix these?

Hmmmm, I can try. I liked the slightly cool tint though..

For me anyway, the cool tone works for the picture of Winston, but perhaps the horse can be warmed a bit.

But they're both really lovely shots. I might be a smidge bothered by the dark line in the background that goes vertically from his horn and horizontally right above his head. Only a smidge, though, because it certainly doesn't stop me from going back to his eyes. And I like that front perspective of the horse - it's an unexpected angle. Was he walking towards you? There's a nice sense of movement in the shot.

He was posing for me, I swear. Both were shot at a party and both were fenced in, so I had to work hard to separate them from their surroundings. Both were shot at f1.8, and I got lucky with the horses posing.

I like these a lot. Goats seem to love the camera. I do love the pose of the goat.

And I agree with the tone, I like it as is.

And Farrah. Winston's brother passed away last week, and they had been together since birth. He cried and cried and cried, so the owner decided to find a little sister for him. His prior owners were rather brutal, so she has a slight fear of humans. I am slowly able to get closer and closer. She ate out of my hand and followed me around while I was photographing her, so she's slowly warming up. Winston's no longer crying, and he even seems happy with her.

P.S. I had to convert this as 1.8 in pure sun lead to some horrid CA.

I like the poses and the fact that you can see their eyes and the expressions.

Glad you like them, thanks for your kind words.

Bump for the new photo.

Oh, Farrah! What a beautiful animal! I'm glad she's slowly recovering from stupid humans and Winston is feeling better, too. And the picture is excellent, imo. Good conversion.

(The thought of a Winston crying over his brother...I think I've got something in my eye...)

I never witnessed it, but the owners friend said it was heartbreaking.
