They kind of suck when taking pictures.

I went in for my annual vision exam yesterday, and decided to get some contact lenses.

WOW!!! I can actually see the entire viewfinder now! Im excited to go on my first little photo safari post contacts.

That is all.

Go one step further and have Lasik done. I wore contacts from the 4th grade until I was 26. I was legally blind, I mean couldn't even take a step in the mornings without glasses on. I got to a point that I could no longer wear contacts due to some dry eye I had..I took the big plunge and had the Lasik procedure, best investment I ever made! It is the simplest procedure, only took a total of 2 minutes, and I am free of contacts or glasses.

Wow, I sound like a commercial

Lasik?

Not a chance. With only a 90% success rate, I will pass. I'm glad it worked for you, but my luck dictates that I will be the one in ten.

Besides, my eyes really aren't that bad.

Yeah, glasses definitely get in the way, get smudged, are a nuisance....but I don't think I can deal with touching my eyes...

Contacts are awesom. I've been wearing 'em for 31 years. Glasses are reserved for after work at home and on one of my days off. It's good to give your eyes one or two days a week w/o contacts. At 47, Lasik would only benefit my distance vision, I'd still need readers for close up, which I do anyway. As far as the success of Lasik, an eval will tell you beforehand if it will benefit you or not.

If I could get used to putting things in my eyes every day I think I could have fun with some weird colored lenses :D

I wore contacts for a long time, but I went way too long between optometrist visits and they started irritating my eyes. When I finally went in to see the optometrist she got pissed at me for going so long without getting them replaced and said, "Why do you do this to yourself? Your vision isn't even that bad!"

So I stopped wearing them.

I'm sure if I went and got tested my vision wouldn't be quite 20/20 but at least for now, I see well enough without correction.

Good photographers can take perfect pictures without looking through the viewfinder...jk.

Glasses are a pita when shooting and that's why I choose not to wear glasses :P

I know what you guys mean. I wear contacts now. I heard there are view finders that you can wear glasses to use....

This describes me. I feel very strongly that I will never be found wearing contacts in any form. Heck, I've had to have creams put in my eyes to treat an infection, and the only way I could do it was to lay on my back with my arms underneath me, and have my wife sit on my chest while she applied the medication.

Woa, and I though I was bad... I hate and cant stand anything touching my eyes so contacts are a big no no for me :P
I have contacts but it honestly takes me over an hour to put them in so glasses it is or nothing

I had a honeycomb cyst on my my eye. They had to remove it with some scooper type deal. SO sucky!!

In Junior High it was decided I needed glasses and I decided to get contacts because I thought I would look like a dork with glasses. So after six months of dealing with those I decided they were too much of a pain the ass to mess with (nightly cleanings in the little wall plug in thingie) and went with glasses (being I looked like a dork regardless) and haven't looked back since. I don't wear them much and never while I'm shooting but my vision isn't too bad, if I had on or two more clicks left in the adjustment of my diopter I think I would be fine.
