What's new

I must be PMS'ing...

"I'm so intimidated to straighten things out. I just KNOW it's going to be a cluster**** of confusion."

My wife is on SS disability and I know what you mean, You just cringe at the thought of contacting them.

No doubt, huh? I received a letter from Medicare that seems to suggest that they think I'm still receiving Wyoming Medicaid, despite that all my SSA correspondence is coming to my current address in Montana and my current medical bills are being billed through Montana Medicaid.

I'm so intimidated to straighten things out. I just KNOW it's going to be a cluster**** of confusion.
THe problem is probably going to lie within the Wyoming medicaid backlog-they probably haven't removed you from their system.
There is a young teacher here who has record of contacting medicaid to stop his coverage over a year before he broke his leg. A year later, leg broken badly he goes to the hospital and they bill his insurance. Now, you know how the insurance companies LOVE to deny things and make a big old 'to do' about it saying someone else was the responsible party for his broken leg. So they did. The hospital then billed the old information they had for medicaid. Medicaid paid the bill without question. The teacher was never notified of any of this other than sending the questionnaire back to his insurance company upon the first denial. He assumed that after that they paid. No one tells you WHO paid the bill, just that your balance is zero.
Now, more than a year or two later the teacher has been charged with medicaid fraud, grand larceny and a bunch of other things. Of course, that was in the paper... blah blah blah.
I said he had record of the call and letter he mailed. Guess what? They say that seeing how it is only a copy of what he mailed it's his word against theirs! So... now he's looking at losing his CAREER over their backlog.
So, what's my point after that long story? I totally can't blame you for not wanting to deal with that headache!

My god. That is terrible. Fortunately Wyoming Medicaid isn't receiving any bills!!

But back to you, I can't imagine what a pain this must be. There are so many third parties. I bet you're looking forward to the placement date so that you can have control the child's finances and not have to deal with his biological mother and all her problems.

I can only wish the mother would go away. She's my daughter-in-law's mother as well as Tommie's, so no matter what she's not going anywhere. She's a real peach, to put it nicely. OH THE STORIES I COULD TELL! Curl your hair and make you wish that stoning her to death were an option.
But... she's his mother... Can't un-do that, can't divorce her... So we are stuck with her hanging about for the next 5 years or so.
