Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
im starting to get tired of shooting the same thing over and over and over again (lake and buildings and trees)

thats all there is around here, that and when i try shooting in public people automatically think they have the right to tell me i cant do that. (i know my rights when shooting in public) i try to tell them otherwise but they wont listen, all they do is get angry and threaten to call the cops on me for invasion of privacy.

how am i invading your privacy in a public place? not like im a peeping tom looking in your windows from the sidewalk

please give me some ideas, im all out of muse

Maybe you ought to print up some cards detailing the rights of photographers in public places, and hand them out to the uneducated hicks that think they have a right to "privacy" in public during broad daylight.

you know what, thats a very good idea, i love when people think they know the laws of privacy, especially when talking to me who studied criminal justice for 2 years.

im surprised no one said anything when i pulled out my D3000 on the airplane to new york last year, hopefully im going back up in august and it wont be raining on the day i decide to go into manhattan to shoot again

The point isn't about what's legal and what's not. It's about respect. If you are taking photos of people who don't wish to have their photos taken by a stranger, then you should respect that. I'd say you just have to find a place where people are not so sensitive, somewhere touristy or where people expect to see photographers. It sucks, but the kind of conflict you will create trying to argue with them isn't worth it, because it will just turn out to be a bad experience for all parties involved.

So you don't want to take pictures of natural things, man-made things, people, or anything that has people around it. That's going to narrow your options a bit. I can sympethize, I live out in the country and nature is just about all there is to photograph here. Don't get me wrong, I love photographing nature but it can put you in a rut. I'm trying to schedule some outings myself soon. There are some covered bridges and an on civil war era graveyard not to far from me that might prove interesting. Perhaps that is something you can do as well. Ask around and see if there are any historical or otherwise interesting places within let's say 100 miles. If there are plan a trip there. If you have family take them along and make a day of it or if you want some alone time, go by yourself.

the thing is that i wouldnt be taking pictures of the people, they just see me with the camera and assume im taking pictures of them without their consent, with the couple of times a person has gotten into a shot of mine (accidentally or intentionally) i would approach them if they showed obvious signs of distress caused by me and talk to them. im going back out after work tomorrow and see what i can capture

i can really go for some alone time right now with all the stresses ive been putting up with the past few years, problem is that i dont have a car reliable enough to take me out too far, my mechanic told me last week that it might catch fire if i drive long distances, maybe my girlfriend can drive and ill give her gas money.

i did photograph and old train yard WW11 era a while back, maybe i can find another one around here, ive wanting to photograph abandoned buildings and such

Old barns can be beautiful in the right light. There was an old barn on my neighbors property years ago that has since been torn down. Just after dawn rays of light would pour through the gaps in the walls and make beautiful patterns. If only I had a camera back then.

there was an abandoned jail not too far from me a while ago before i got into photography, they tore it down recently when i went to investigate it

nice bearded dragon by the way, i had one for about 3 years before it died on me :(

Thanks, he's got a lot of character and doesn't take crap from anyone. He even cornered our cat once, of coarse I think the cat was more confused than scared.

An abandoned jail would have been really cool.

he was actually pretty calm and mild tempered, loved any attention he could get, i miss him but i dont miss cleaning the poop

Long exposure, self-portrait, random objects around your house

Those are good ideas too, we have a collection of antique crystal glassware in the house and I thought about taking shots shinning different types of light through them.
I've heard that long exposures and laser pointers can be fun.

Mine will crap in his food bowl if I don't feed him on time.
