To late now, the weed trimmer got it.

Besides, I think it has good depth. There is focus close to the camera as well as at the perimeter.

However, your idea of using a flash is something I never thought of & must try sometime. It wont be easy as my camera does not talk to these old film camera lenses - a bit of a snob don't you think.
