I work at a high-end custom cabinet shop, and a few months ago I approached the owner about the possibility of me going out and taking pictures of some of our work for advertising purposes. This last weekend, I finally got my opportunity. We had done a few homes for the annual "Parade of Homes" sponsored by the neighboring communities, and they wanted pictures beforehand to make flyers to hand out at the parade. They set the times for early/mid afternoon, even after I told them it was not ideal because of the window reflections that would be inevitable. They insisted and said that it was the only time it could be done, and to do the best I could.

This was my first time doing anything close to this type of photography, and it was tricky to find what I wanted. Although they wanted me to showcase the cabinetry, they wanted pictures of the entire room if possible to show the type of work we do, and how the cabinets tie into the whole room.

So basically, I'm asking for C&C on these because this is something I would really like to grow in. They already said they have at least two more locations they would like to send me out to, and I want to make sure I'm even more prepared.

Also, I know that the distortion is very noticeable on some of these. If I start to get heavy enough into this I eventually acquire and learn to use a tilt-shift lens. But in the mean time, I'll have to do without.

C&C away!

Yeah they made it tough on ya when they did not allow for better timing. I am interested in the "pros" responses to this for a learning opportunity. I think you did well given the circumstances. However, it is plain to see that timing really was not right for these shots.

i didn't like the first one just because the chairs drag to much attention due to the brightness, and the right hand side is a little cut off and wish you would have captured the cabinets from the start. Same goes for your second one, the cabinets are cut off on the left , you should have cut off more of the bar in order to get more of the cabinets. other than that they look good.

Just my two cents.
