BANG-ON focus dude! Good shot too! I love the Run, Lola Run! reference! That was quite a movie.

So, what focus sysyem settings were you using for this shot? In the past, I have found that for subjects coming directly toward the camera like this, which is a very common scenario in track and field action photography, a multi-point AF approach and an AF-S lens have been the best solution for me, shooting Nikon.

Are you using the 4-way controller, AKA the "thumb BUTTON" on the back,to manually select the initial area for the camera to focus on, and then allowing the light metering/focusing COLOR-AWARE evaluation of that subject's reflectivity and R-G-B color makeup to keep the focus on that same-colored object as it moves across the frame?

What are you doing now that you were not initially doing? Can you pull this shot into an EXIF reader, and come up with some important info on AF mode, AF pattern focusing points used, etc???

Sharp picture!

For moving objects, I use continuous focus mode and select one of the cross type focus points and just place that over as I follow the subject.

Derrel ,

just got home and LMFAO !!!!!! will get back to you in a bit . LOLOLOL.

Derrel,

Lets see here is some data

Ex: 1/2000
Ap:f/4.5
at 70mm
ISO:320
aperture priority

I do have AF-ON (back button ) , had af set to AF-C , 11 points

Bright sunny day did help , but i was really trying to work on my shooting discipline as opposed to just spraying and praying .

She is quick and jolts one way then the other, in this series i was at CH , and out of the 7 shots 4 were sharp this one being the best i thought since her ears were both up .

LOL. hope this is what you were looking for . M

Almost forgot . Center weighted metering .
