What's new

I think I need a new lens. Is this thing poisionous?

The colours are simply outstanding.

Btw, i also usually leave my house pet spider be.... that is unless they're running across all over the place because that's just freaky but if they're just chillin' on a web somewhere i leave them alone.

Haha i like how this turned into a discussion about what we do when we find spiders.

Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. It's not about what we can use and discard, but rather, what we can borrow and appreciate. Our entire existence is based on time which is directly related to light and lights speed . It was once thought that capturing an image of 100 years passed, was quite impossible. Today it's reality.

Oh if they are in the house...they are goners...we get these weird ass crickets in our basement called "cave crickets" or "camel crickets" they are like a mutated version of a Daddy long legger mixed with a cricket and their defense mechanisim makes them jump TOWARD you when they think they are jumping AWAY from you...and they are harmless but ****...they are scary looking!
If you are an insect and you find your way into my house..."YOU MUST DIE... I alone am Best!"

Nice shot. Where did you find him at?

I would have killed it. Don't want one of those finding its way into my newborns crib, stroller, blanket etc etc......Plus I hate spiders. Now if it wasn't on or in the general vicinity of my house, I would let it live. I mean afterall, I do pay for an exterminator, whats the difference if I kill him along with all his brethren or by himself?

I'm an outdoors-man of sorts. I was out in the woods with a camera and a tripod instead of a gun. I was looking for a landscape and found a spider. So I tried to make the best of what was offered. The spider is tiny. He's quite a bit smaller, in mass, than a typical house fly. When I got to looking at him through the lens and saw all the colors, I became intrigued. I've never seen one like it. The slightest puff of wind moves this subject in and out of focus so it wasn't as easy as one might think. I have several shots of this subject that are quite a bit better than the one above.
I didn't kill him because for a time I became one with him, studying him from all angles and different light, watching him move. I'm often fascinated by the beauty in things that go overlooked and unseen. Now I know where he lives. I can shoot him again. The spider will die one day, but it won't be by my hand. Thanks again folks.
