I want your opinion!!

Hi everyone! So i literally just signed up for this forum 5 minutes ago and wanted to post a few of my photos and see what you guys thought! I am looking for feeedback. I am fairly new to the world of photography and want to continue to get better so any input would be great!

#1 would be better if we could see what she was taking a picture of
#2 not interesting
#3 needs something more, such as eye contact with the subject
#4 not interesting

My favorites are 1 and 3.

Agree with Designer, wish we could see the screen of the phone a little more.

For 3, I like this, and I personally don't think we need to see his eyes. However, his skin is way overexposed and the ground in front of him seems underexposed.

What camera did you use to take these? And how did you process them?

First read about composition.
Get the centers of interest large in the frame - unless there is an artistic reason not to.
Remove or downplay things in the frame that distract.

I cropped this, then warmed it up, darkened the periphery so the viewers' eyes sat on the important parts.


Sharpened only the subject.

Besides what was said already,harsh lighting and blowing highlights is very unflattering as some of theses images above.No matter how good a composition is or interesting the subject matter, a bad exposures then the former won't even matter. Mid afternoon is not the ideal time to shoot but if you must,you need to compensate for bright lighting.The last two images are good examples of blown out highlights. Work on a good exposures first would be my suggestion.
