The picture above is interestingly composed but, imo, unoriginal and your watermark in the left hand corner is very distracting.

Am i a good at photography?

Greetings, and welcome!

Each of us would like validation, but we seldom receive it. Occasionally a few of us show photographs that are exceptional, but that is the exception rather than the rule. I understand it would give a 16-year-old some positive direction if he heard from some experienced photographers that his photographs are more artistic than anything ever seen in such a young photographer, but the reality is that will not happen. Even if some 16-year-old shows promise, not everybody will like his art. That is reality.

As to "tips and tricks", they are all over the internet. Go for it.

My advice is to practice your art until someone likes it.

It's great that you want to learn and improve. It's not the kind of thing that can be boiled down to just a few tips and tricks, however. First of all, it's a more complicated subject than can be covered in a paragraph or two. Second, it's probably less useful to you if we all give general tips and more useful if we can give tips for your work specifically.

I suggest checking out some of the Photo Galleries (Photography Forum) and reading the critiques and comments. Then start your own thread and post some photos for critique so people can comment more specifically about those pictures. It's too complicated to comment on too many pictures at once, so it's better to stick to one or two photos per thread.

I see some great ideas that just need more practice. You're a lot farther along than most people with a camera at your age. Keep honing and enjoying your craft and soon you will have something special!

Tips....look at people's work who inspire you, try and do it yourself, read, shoot.....shoot....shoot....don't get caught up in the need for likes on your images, or the need for better equipment....play, explore, enjoy light and shadows and all the beauty that is created....there are no real tricks...just the acceptance that there will be times that your most loved image may be misunderstood and criticised....
