Ideal studying environment

One of my daughters is bartending at a bowling alley on the weekend. She tells me she gets a LOT of schoolwork done on her laptop, because most bowlers concentrate on the games and don't bother her with conversation. So between filling up their pitchers with beer, she usually has lots of time to do the reading and writing. Of course, not all bars are conducive to studying.

Nice image, I like the way you framed her, and the light is pretty good too.

Yeah, good shaft of light and her textbook acted as a nice reflector.

I really like studying or working at a bar. This may seem odd coming from someone who has such issues dealing with sounds, but the noises at a bar can be quite soothing. The talking generally settles into an amorphous din that serves as a great white noise machine, and the music is often just loud enough to add to the white noise. I find I can sort of get into a little bubble and concentrate very well. Plus, people generally leave me alone and I get to drink beer!

Oh, and I like the picture too. Very graphical.

You should try the app "focus at will" total game changer for me when it comes to dialing in the right kind of noise to zone in or out with.

That looks good, I'll check it out. When I'm in a coffeehouse, I'll often have my earphones in. Usually jazz to help keep noises out. Classical sometimes works, but only certain composers. Beethoven, for example, varies to much, so sometimes it's too loud and other times it's way too soft. Chopin is much steadier and level. I also have a few "calm meditation" apps that actually are too irregular for when I'm trying to actually meditate, but they're good for blocking out distractions. I'm always looking for more like that to have a good variety to choose from. I also like things like this because it helps me sleep, too.
