I'm new here...looking for some general C & C

I'm relatively new on TPF...and new to the idea I might have a little bit of skill when it comes to photography. Basically, I'm just looking for some general comments on what I"m doing right and wrong. Any feedback is appreciated!

I LOVE the feel of #1. That's my favorite of this set. You paid close attention to lining it all up.

The sunset looks way over saturated, blowing the yellows, or at least losing any detail in them.

The composition is nice on the flowers, and the "orton effect" looks ok here. But it is just kinda "another flower shot", if you will.

#4 isn't terribly exciting, and then it is oversharpened, and over saturated, which kinda reeks of trying to "save" an image.

#5 could be nice, except it is out of focus (OOF). I don't want to tread on dangerous ground, but the finger sticking out like that looks very odd, and disconnected to the hand. Almost like it was photoshopped in.

Keep posting, I see potential!

I've only had my new camera since December, and thats probably my favorite shot I've captured so far. Its the front door to an abandoned cotton mill in Lanett, AL.
