Fine. We know what buttons to push. None of this fumbling business. And to quote Simon and Garfunkel, "Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last." :allteeth:

I thought it was "make the "moment" last"?

ETA: and a quick Google proves why I just like songs for the music. Half the time I don't hear the lyrics!

The police department at the county where I work used to send cadets to Communications so they could get a feel for what dispatchers go through. I had my first clue of getting older when they looked more like high school students that 21+ year old cops.

Years later, when I was taking classes at Maryland, my increased temporal status was confirmed. I decided to throw my old bike in the back of the truck and use that to get from the parking lot to class and back. I was peddling up a hill in front of one of the buildings when my handlebars decided to get loose and go wonky. When I hit the brake, the handlebar took a hard left, the front wheel locked, and the bike tumbled over with me still attached. Laying in the road on my back, knee banged up and bleeding lightly, I see a lovely female student coming over and hear a soft, voice - "Are you OK, sir?"

How do you people know these things? I go to great lengths to hide this stuff, but you all seem to know...

It takes an appropriately tuned mind. Natch.

Ok, I can never listen to that Simon/Garfunkle song again... Without knowing what they meant! Hey, I was only @ 12 or so....
Instead of saying 'old' ..I remember feeling 'mature' when I knew it was ok to use an umbrella in a pouring rain. And again when I had said to my dad at 13 yrs old, 'there will NEVER be another 'xyz', and of course at 30 yrs old...there is ALWAYS another ' xyz' ( dress, poster, deal)

I give...I turned 58 in November. I think I feel it, but I also know I have not been active in the last year. Am improving on that this year and will compare.
But don't tell anyone, I don't want anyone to know I am old :)

The song lyrics themselves are very innocent, so I don't think Garfunkel actually was playing the dual-meaning game. My point is that as one gets older, one gets (usually) wiser. And one wise idea is to not rush a good thing, whether it be listening to music, or tasting food, or strolling in the woods. Or dancing together, for that matter.
