Image Theft - Fuming!

Its one of the those things, "its never going to happen to me" well it has happened to me. Someone actually didn't even right click and save, but instead just linked the photo straight from my site to his website, so not only is he stealing my image and making money off it he is also using up my band width.

I've sent a cease and desist e-mail, saying the next step will be for me to contact my lawyer and charge for image usage, bandwidth and the cost of recovering the money.

How did you find the person's site? Do you know the person? I have the feeling that if someone ever did that to me that I'd never actually find out because the internet is so big!

create a file with exact name and put "F U A$$ hole. Stop stealing my photo" and replace the old photo. It should link to his website hahah.

Wait if he's just copying your own link how is he making money from your shot?

Also yes if he's just hyperlinking just change the link name and it breaks for him

Replace the photo with a text message that says " I steal photos and links from other websites and use them as my own"

See how fast he changes the link.

I set up a google alert for a certain project and came up with a number of blatantly thieved and uncredited images belonging to the photographer engaged for that particular project. Alerts certainly help.
