Went out today in the heat to two spots. The first case up with a variety of birds...

And then it was off to a known Bald Eagle nest where they had an eaglet this season. This is the result of a successful mating season for this pair. They did well.

Thanks Jeff. Since you enjoyed them, here’s another willet from the sequence and another cormorant from it as well.

Great set - I am kinda partial to the Plover, I guess because I have only seen them in books and never out in the wild. The Eagle closeups are great!

Very nice! some good shooting there Medic. I really like your cormorant shots, they are not easy to do and you have some very nice ones here. I love that orangey/red on their beak! The bald eagle close up is superb!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’ve just in the last year started really shooting again and found wildlife to be my “thing.”

I’m constantly playing with different settings and all to maximize what I can get for images. I need to work on some exposure compensation settings. The eagle was tough since it was mid day harsh light, but also hazy so the sky looked more white than blue. It made it hard to not blow out the sky while shooting the eagle.

We are lucky to have this pair that’s really active. The other shots came from a new spot that I’ll definitely shoot at again. There was so much activity there. I think sunrise or sunset there and it will be a gold mine of keepers.

Glad you enjoyed!
