My wife likes the clean-shaven look. So that's what she gets from me. She did see me during college years when I had some long hairs growing and persuaded me that clean-shaven is the way to go. My son-in-law can grow a beard, mustache, or any other form of facial shrubbery in about 12 hours, and consequently the shape of whatever he's growing changes from week to week. One week it's a fu-manchu, another it's walrus chops, next it's stach and goatee...

I can grow a pretty good fire-engine red beard but the Dept of the Navy and Marine Corps doesn't allow me to. It will literally be the first thing I do when I join the ranks of civilian again.

Yep. I tried to get rid of it, but Greenpeace and the ACLA teamed up in a legal action to stop the destruction ... something about endangered species and habitat loss.

An entire ecosystem disappeared when my youngest got a haircut in celebration of the Spring equinox.
