Indoor shooting

Im going to the NEC for the Classic Car Show in November i will be taking my Canon 50D & my 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM has anybody got some tips for taking good shots indoors please

ive had decent luck indoor for car shows. at the time didnt have a flash and on camera flash was worthless, some nice glass that lets in allot of light will be a big help. biggest thing is if your in with the cars alone or in when the general spectators are all around. if so good luck, its hard to get good shots with so much distraction in the background.
