Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I went to a local lake this morning to photograph the dam and the spillway. There were a lot of birds out flying, so I got out the 70-200mm f/4L and thought I would see if I've learned anything from looking at their photos. Plenty of room for improvement on these but you have to try to learn, right.

1) My favorite and I feel that it is the best of the set.

2) I feel that this is the weakest of the set but it is in focus. It would be much better at a different angle.

3) I can't decide if I like this one or not.

Well thank you for your kindness.

I like the first two. The processing on the first one is kind of "artsy", and the second one has the gull in a slightly unusual position. What really helps is the LIGHT. The sun was giving a good catchlight in the eyes, and some definition on the birds, so that's a plus. The first shot would make a good background to overlay text on, like a Facebook or web "square", maybe an inspirational quote or saying. I like the background of #1, looks like water, but nice and blue. The last one's a bit too high in contrast, and the light tones are starting to burn out.

Thanks Derrel. I think you expressed what I was feeling but couldn't say it on #2 & 3.

1&2 for me. Nice shots. Later Ed

Thanks oldhippy.

I may have to title #1 "Soaring like and eagle."

Are you an Okie Ron???

Nice pics as well. BIF pics are tough. No matter how you cut it.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, so yep, I are one.

Thank you RunJZ. It was an interesting exercise for me.

I like all three, but #1 is definitely a classic.

All right Ron, Welcome the club. #1 is really good sharp and detailed. Not you have to hunt down the raptors.

Actually think I saw one earlier this week but was driving and couldn't stop to try to shoot it or to be sure.

I would have slammed on the breaks. If it was snowy owl, I would have probably caused a 10 car pileup.Oops

It wasn't a snowy owl. I honestly don't know a lot of the bird types but this one looked like some that I've seen on here. I wasn't prepared to shoot it or to cause any problems (besides the jeep with a 4" lift kit doesn't go too fast and could turn over WAY too easy.)

Derrel, I edited #3 again and changed it in the OP.

Just for you Derrel.....
