Intervalometer

Anyone use an intervalomter? I would like to get one, but want to get an idea of what people have used, what they like, and what they don't like.

Many (most?) bodies have this functionality built in these days, but if yours doesn't, there are a host of remote wired and wireless triggers with this capability. A quick search on eBay should find lots.

I don't think the OP is asking where to get one. I believe he/she is asking what brand people recommend and like or don't like about them. I can't really help because I don't use them.

Unless you have a moral objection, I really think this is the kind of thing you're better off buying from China. If you're worried about it failing, just buy ten of them. You'll still be way less than the overpriced units built in the West.

Personally, I'd just build my own if you need one for things like high speed or time lapse.

Comments at the link above indicate dissatisfaction from a "poorly written manual" to "cheap feel" to "easily broken by mashing the button too hard". My own experience with it so far is that it will easily stand up to standard use and is no more "cheaply" made than any other standard plastic-housed devices of our times. The manual was easy enough to follow, and the device itself is pretty self explanatory within about a minute, just by pressing the buttons to see what they do.

Of course, your choice for such a device will depend on your camera make, possible future body upgrades you intend and whether it will still still be compatible, and your budget.
