Iphone DSLR Remote

Dont know if this is in the right spot.

I have recently bought the $20 app for the iphone called "DSLRemote" I am currently using a Nikon D40x. Before I purchased the app I made certain of it that It was compatible with my current DSLR. As stated in the list of cameras d40x was one of the compatible models for this app. I downloaded the client and Started up the program. It detected my camera and started the socalled server. I went onto my iphone on the same wifi network my computer had been working on and tried to connect. No server was detected. I then went into my computer's preferances. I changed the firewall settings to off. I restarted the program and followed the steps again. Everything worked smoothly till i tried finding the network with my iphone. I tried making a wifi network using my computer the phone connected to it but didn't find a camera network.

can anyone help me out?
