IR Remote for Nikon

I bought a lot of 10 knock-offs a few years back since I usually lose one or two every year.

If you have a smart phone with an IR emitter built into it, you can even use that with an app from the appropriate source.

my knockoff died after a few months of use. But i'm sure other brands can work well - I don't recall the brand that I bought.
ebay has the real ones for much cheaper than retail if you watch carefully.

Yeah - eBay shows a number of these that look like genuine Nikon ones, but the descriptions often don't back this up. Anyway, this one didn't pretend to be genuine, and at just a couple of quid if it fails after a while I won't have wasted much. I don't expect to use it all that much anyway.

Of course you can use a phone as a remote with the wifi functionality of the D5500 anyway, but this is a lot simpler, plus you can select "delayed release". For this.

If I'm gonna end up losing them anyway, I don't see any reason to buy OEMs.
