Is anyone using this lens?

I am currently shopping for a wide angle lens for my mexico trip and my shopping spree stopped on the Tokina 12-24 F4.

I had the 11-16 for about a year but i wasnt using that much and 11-16 was a bit short for anything else than landscapes so i sold it and invested the 700 somewhere else.

Now the 12-24 is almost as wide as the 11-16 but is a bit longuer and at 24, it should be a good walk around lens for vacation since i will be shooting lanscape and portraits. I think the lens could be a bit more versatile than the 11-16. and for 434 $ shipped with taxe it is alot less money than the nikon F4 version.

I didnt had the chance to use it since no shop near where i live has it. i was wondering if anyone is using that lens for portrait at 24mm on a crop body and how well it performs? i will be using that lens on a d7000.

24mm should be similar to 35mm on a full-frame, which would make it very usable.

Good choice.
