What's new

Is it just me...

Oh dear Lord! (I don't think I've ever posted that before, therefore it's a valid contribution right?)

If you'd like to make a book of rules, letting us know who should post when, feel free.

If you are tired of seeing someones posts, put them on ignore.

If you are tired of someone repeatedly ragging on other users because their posts don't meet their standards, put them on ignore.

If you are tired of someone repeatedly insinuating only their posts have value, put them on ignore!

Interesting responses all around. I'll chalk my OP up to a long day at work, and end things here. Who knew the "ignore" function had so much power? Hopefully not too many of you will be applying it to me ;) Thanks, and happy shooting - with or without the benefit of Understanding Exposure, and hopefully with the benefit of numbers when said shots come here for objective C&C.

I know that the number of posts you have = your contribution to the site. I tend to take comments from heavy posters with greater weight because I automatically assume that they have a strong grasp of concepts and are able to speak on a number of topics with a high level of expertise.
I think that's (bolded text) where you're going at it wrong. I may have a few more posts than you, but............................

I up my post count with silly little entries such as this one.

Kun, allow me to tell you how concerned I was when I first got back... I hadn't noticing you posting anything and I was scurred you ran away! But you didn't and now I can sleep at night. :

I think we need a variation on the captcha - you should have to answer a photographic skill-testing question before you're allowed to post a pic for C&C.

such as...

What is a sensor?
1) A brand name of a shaving blade ,
2) A container for holding incense used by Orthodox priests,
3) A mathematical device for describing fields in quantum physics
4) A semiconductor circuit that generates electric charges from photons
5) A class of sailing boats inspired by photography

Which value does not belong in the sequence:

1.4, 2, 2,8, 4, 6, 8, 11?
1) 1.4
2) 2.8
3) 6
4) 11
5) none of the above.

A measure of 50mm found on a lense represents:
1) The distance between the focal plane and the viewing plane.
2) The the minimum focusing distance,
3) The spacing between the eyes needed to see stereoscopically
4) The distance of the front lens to the focal plane
5) The diameter of the lens

etc.

The only time I suggested that the op might get more response if they didn't post some many photos, someone ( I really don't remember who) took me to task for saying that, made me wonder just what there problem was and decided they had too much to drink. ;)

People really underestimate how drunk the internet is... everything makes a lot more sense when you remember that context!
