IMO, no it was not enough light.Is this enough fill flash for strong sunlight ?
I assume the flash should have been camera right ?
I think it would work better camera left. I think you want it sort of augmenting and complementing the sunlight. Opposite the sun would produce weird lighting effects.

If you had the flash camera left... would you then use a bounce camera right to help fill the shadows a bit?
