New to taking pictures ! Was told I needed this lens for better indoor photos! Unfortunately I'm unable to spend $200 new.

Thank you

Used isn't going to be much cheaper than new. Lenses, especially good quality primes, hold their value. The cheapest I've seen these go for is like $150. Average is $160-170.

Good lens but don't get too close to peoples faces, it distorts. Very sharp lens and nice focal length on a DX camera. Good for landscape and street shooting as well.

That was my favorite lens on DX! I highly recommend it and B&H sells them used in superb condition for a low price. I'd get it.

In my opinion, yes. They are entirely reputable and offer good prices. I bought my most recent purchase from them. Another option for used lenses is KEH.

Incidentally, what kind of photography are you interested in? Why the 35mm?

I am taking photos of my new baby indoors!
