New to taking pictures ! Was told I needed this lens for better indoor photos! Unfortunately I'm unable to spend $200 new.

Buy one on eBay used or refurbished if you can't afford new.

Used isn't going to be much cheaper than new. Lenses, especially good quality primes, hold their value. The cheapest I've seen these go for is like $150. Average is $160-170.

Good lens but don't get too close to peoples faces, it distorts. Very sharp lens and nice focal length on a DX camera. Good for landscape and street shooting as well.

B&H is a great place to buy from. Just check their open hours because of Jewish holidays. And I don't think you can order online on Saturdays. But I've had only good experiences with them.
