I've got another pic and a question

Might want to avoid using a head-on flash next time... the reflections and colors are a bit harsh. He looks pretty sick, too, with those red cheeks... maybe try to tone those down a bit, though you're probably going to be semi-stuck with that red blotchiness.

thanks a bunch. yea he wasnt feeling well and i had to drag him out to the little league field for a little bit. He's feeling better though. thanks for the suggestions!
Question though... when you say a head on flash, I assume that you are talking about the flash that looks directly at the subject... I dont have a seperate flash, i have read about some tricks for bouncing light.. in this case, I dont think that I needed the flash because of the natural light but it made the picture "pop" to me.

Yeah, that's what I mean.

Generally speaking, using the on-camera flash is a huge no-no. I think I've popped mine up maybe 5x in 5 years, and I have absolutely hated the results, every single time. It's harsh, deeply accentuates bad things about the subject, creates strong shadows, etc. You can get a flash that can be redirected and bounced off another surface, and/or use a variety of things to diffuse the light.

HAHAHA Leave it!!! It adds character to the little guy. I like the pics though and I will pm you a great pod cast site that has Bert Monroe showing photo shop tips. I am also going to post it under general news or something for everyone else to see.
