my suggestion: buy a black one and paint it white.
buying the body and starter lens is the cheapest part of switching to the DSLR game. I take solace in the fact that the lenses and bodies hold their value fairly well as long as you don't buy new, so when I'm done with my stuff, I can sell it and still come out ok. This is why I highly recommend buying used gear.
