I would have gone up to him and said, "you know that sign, the one you're wearing which tells me to ask you why you're on a hunger strike? Well, if you'd have said please I would have asked. Bye". :mrgreen:

Or if you're feeling mischievous, how about sit on the bench next to him with your own sign reading "Ask ME why he's on a hunger strike"; he'll be irritated when people ask you instead of him, and even more so when you explain that he's protesting against the Martian colonisation conspiracy that he learned about by playing his 'N Sync tapes backwards...

Oh and the photo is brilliant, whether the guy ate the sub or not - well done for spotting the photo op there!
