I had the pleasure of listening to a conversation between two colleagues today who were discussing the pros of their new cameras.

Each of them twitched a little when the other said a certain word. That got me thinking - how do you all say ISO?

Do you say it "eye-so" as one word, or do you sound it phonetically, as in "eye ess oh"?

(Mods feel free to move if this should be somewhere else!)

For me its I-S-O.
If im in a hurry its ISO.

eye-es-oh. and I say it with a spanish accent so I don't feel like a minority not being hispanic.

"Eye-so." I thought this was common sense. You say the word just like any other acronym like SCUBA, LASER, and NASA.

I pronounce each letter. And yet, at times, I find myself still saying "ASA"...so...

Eye-ess-oh for me. I only say acronyms as words if they spell one!

"eye ess oh" delivered with a proper British accent of course

I can't say I have ever heard it pronounced "Eye-So"

How do you say NBA, NHL, NAACP, AAA, FDA, NFL, CDC, HDMI, TTL, and so on? Just out of curiosity.

I say I-S-O, it sounds more professional.

I-S-O...yea never even knew some people jammed it together as a word.

Those don't form actual words, though.

:/ why do i say eye-so?! because my photog intsructor in highschool plagued me with eye-so.. god damniiiit :gah:

Add me to the I-S-O list! Actually, I recall a speaker on video tutorial making a point of it one time... "Yes, folks... always eye-ess-oh, not eye-so!" Not sure that makes him more qualified than anyone else, but that was his take and it validated what I was already doing, so I went with it!
