What's new

just ordered this your thoughts?

Depends on your use. Not something I would have ordered as I believe I would be too limited by the power output from the continuous lights. Also, I'm usually hesitant to purchase anything with so few reviews. One of the reviews mentions that the color output from the lights is pretty bad. May not be a big deal if you switch lights or use a custom white balance, but cheap bulbs usually have a fairly low CRI which can impact how vibrant colors appear.

Sounds like the stands are decent, so if you decide to upgrade, at least you will have some of the pieces.

What are you going to use it for?

I think you're going to be disappointed
I bought a similar budget lighting set-up in the past.
Cost maybe $200, with back drop stands, and a black, white and true green, cotton drops.

The stands are incredibly light duty, and the light output is terribly weak, IMO.
I use the stands to this day, for my strobes, does okay, but it's so light duty, that it's prone to tipping.

Depending on what you're shooting, I would rather save up a couple more bucks, and buy:
Yonguo flash: $35-50
Medium duty stand off Cowboy Studio or something: $20-40
And maybe some budget wireless triggers off Cowboy Studio or ebay or something: $30 ish. Possibly less with a different product.
And maybe a cheap umbrella or soft box: $10-100.

I know the price adds up but, IMO, this will be much more of an optimal set-up.

Edit:
Sorry I noticed you said you already ordered it.
I'd say just hold onto the stands, and don't expect too much out of the lights
Any the umbrellas can be held on to.
When I got this similar kit, the lights just didn't cut it for me.
Maybe can do okay with some light product shot use.

for 44 bucks, I look at it as that price for 3 stands and umbrellas. Continuous lighting might suck, but at least you get some stands out of it. Might purchase this just for the stands lol

The lights are a waste of time, but stands and rest of gear may be of use

soooo what lights should i be looking at?

Maybe it's just me... And I don't mean any offence... But, isn't this something you should have worked out before you ordered it?

I made a similar mistake when I bought my first light kit. It looked good before I ordered it. And I did some research on it... But when I got it, I realized that the lights were garbage. But, at least the stands and light modifiers I got with it; are sort of useful. So it wasn't a complete waste of money.

its my first set and I dont have thousands of dollars to spend.... its for me to learn on
