shot pretty wide open with high ISO. I was expecting you would use mostly flash and no ambient light and you stop the motion with the flash. You also exceed your sync speed on the first one. Did you use FP mode or something?

Yes FP and large f-stop to get a good shutter speed and separation. The high iso enables faster shutter speed and the light to bounce and bend and fill in so there is not so much contrast between lights and darks in the shot. With only one light that is important if you want the subject as evenly lit as possible.

Mostly flash would have been an entirely different shot....more of a spotlight effect, not what I was going for.
