I recently drove through Alberta with the wife and kids and took a couple of shots of things that caught my eye. What do you think?

The first was driving through Jasper National Park at around 4 am (drove while the kids slept)

Mountain Morning Moon by Boaketography, on Flickr

I really wish the moon was larger, it appeared larger to the naked eye and that's what compelled me to pull over and take the shot, along with the sunlight on the mountain.

This second one was on our way home through Banff National Park

These were shot with the T3i and kit lens. I'd like to get some new glass but really want to learn to use what I already have.

Nice photos, i especially enjoy the second one. Reminds me of the hotel in "The Shining".

Is that really that big of a deal? I mean, the mountains aren't level, I thought it added dimension to the photo. I guess I was wrong.

the second one isn't level

I think it's more like vertical distortion then tilted. The right side of the building is level (looking it the walls), but looking at the left part of the building it starts to get "tilted". It doesn't help because the roof has an odd angle, making it look tilted.

Anyway, the first one doesn't do anything for me. It's too contrasty and there isn't much to see. The second one... I like the location, but the composition is a bit lacking. Not sure if you could have done anything about it, I've never been there. It does appear to have a slight green cast to it, unless my eyes/monitor is going bad.

Hope this helps. :)

-Off subject- Do you like the T3i? I was thinking about getting one, but I was wondering if I should save $100 and just get the t2i.

I love it, it`s easy to use and to get around. It`s the only DSLR I`ve ever had so I don`t have anything to compare it to, though.
