i don't have a calibrated monitor but the rocks seem underexposed or your black level is too high.

that was my concern, but lava rocks might be really black...

True... They were not as black as that. I liked the mood of them this dark though, I'll make an adjustment when I get home and post.

Yeah it creates quite the contrast with the sandy beaches and very unique.

I am on my phone but 2nd edit seems good. I kinda like the color too.

Until you posted the color version, I had no idea they were in water. I don't know that B&W is best for this image.

now that I looked on a computer. I agree that the color version I think is better. The water is lost in the B&W. I like the contrast between the black and the yellowish sand.

The color version just adds so much to your photograph. It brings it to life. The B&W version doesn't come close to conveying the same feeling.
