Took a few shots the other day in the living room :) I used the 5D Mark II, and the 70-200 f/2.8 L IS for all of these.

Well done on the lighting. And it doesn't hurt that the model is super cute. :)

Thanks for the comments everybody :)

Good lighting, but it looks like you're front-focusing slightly.

How can you tell?

Jay

In each the eyes look slightly soft but an area slightly in front (#1 the tips of the blue bow, #3 the fingertips, #4 the cuffs of her trouser legs) seems very sharp, indicating that's the point of focus.

Very nice. The third one is a standout. Very nice lighting, good posing/composition, clothing, propping and background all in key, fascinating expression.... all just very nice.

My only nit picks are: Center her nose in the frame. With her looking right into the viewers eyes, I think her face should be absolutely centered. And, clone out that bit of pink at the right edge of the frame... at the horizon line.

John's right too about the focus. Focus on the eyes and let the foreground go a bit soft.

VERY NICE!

Strange, I don't see that on the originals at all. Here is 100% crop of #1:

Thanks Pete ;) Good call on the clone and thanks again for the comments/ feedback! :)

Strange; it must be something to do with your post-processing and the hosting 'site's resizing algorithym. That crop looks fine.

The crop looks fine but the original post doesnt. Weird.

Cute shots!

Really strange is right! This is the 1st time anybody every mentioned soft eyes/ front focusing, about my portraits and I personally can't see what your talking about on the smaller images either. It must be me.

In any event, thanks again for your comments/ feedback!

Best,
Jay

I just said "awwww" out loud when I saw these. She's precious!!! Great job on the photos, I LOVE the lighting!

#2 is great! Models can be such divas, and talking them into such precarious poses can be quite the chore. ;)

Sure can!! Layla was amazing for us and we totally took advantage :) Previous attempts were much harder.

I remember this little one and her beautiful eyes! :)
