I came upon the book Understanding Exposures and was wondering if it would be a good book to help me since I am a beginner photographer. I would also like some recommendations.

There's another book i really enjoyed, that is set up as a "learn a concept, then go try it" book. It's at home. Remind me to look for it.

Understanding Exposure (Bryan Peterson) is a fantastic book for a beginner. I've read it and have learned volumes from it....

A simple search on the forum for "understanding exposure" yields 400 hits (which coincidentally is the most hits that can be registered by a search) and nearly all of them are a recommendation.

Just sayin'.

Pick it up and read it. You more than likely won't be disappointed.

I agree.

I'd also recommend the Guide to Digital Photography by Joe McNally.
