Lens caps

I have the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and the sigma lens cap does not allow me to put it on and take it off with the lens hood on, so I was wandering can I buy a lens cap that you squeese in the middle so I can keep the lens hood on the lens?

same deal with the cap that came with my 70-300 Vr nikkor. i bought the normal 62mm cap that comes on the new nikkors but i hasn't arrived yet, so i couldn't tell you. But we'll see if it works. it's a pain having to take of and put on for the hood.

Well I dunno about that lens, but the Canon EF 70-200 lenses allow you to put on the lens backward and put on the lens cap

Yes I can put the hood on backwards but I would like to avoid constantly removeing the lens hood.

that is what I would need if it works. The 70-200 is 77mm and this cap has the space in the middle to grab.

Ya the nikon 18-55 is but no the Sigma...Do you know if this one posted will work on the Sigma?

You can order caps online... just need to fit to the same size and make sure its the squeeze in the middle type. Granted, I haven't done this on a non-Nikon lens, but presumably as long as it's the same size it will work...

Get the Nikon cap of the correct size. All of my Nikon caps are pinch caps.

I order Tamron lens caps from B & H. They are center squeeze.

"lens cap center" - search for this on EBay. You will get more hits then you want to go through.

I has same problem as you with Canon lens - those edge squeeze ones are impossible to put on with hood in place. The center squeeze caps I got from EBay (shipped from Hong Kong) even have Canon stamped on front
