lens option

Which is the better lens option? I have a nikon d3100 and the 18-55 lens that came with it. I'm looking at buying a 2nd lens. I'm wondering which would be better?Tamron 18-200 f3.5-6.3 dI-II built in motor Nikon 55-200 Af-s dx F4-5.6G EDThanks!Yes I asked a similar question but for now I'm looking into lower cost options...

I would be willing to guess the Nikon offering would be superior to the Tamron huge focal range zoom lens.

The Tamron offers the more usable range of focal length. The quality, however may be compromised by that luxury. Having said that, I don't know it to be true as I don't own that particular lens.

I do own a Tamron 70-300 lens that is at least as good as Nikon kit lenses are.
