I feel like I know the correct answer, but I'd like to be assured by those who know, so I'm asking anyways. I am one of my area's 'stronger' pool players, and have been for a while...and have been unsure as to which route I'd like to go in my photography, until tonight! I have kinda stopped playing pool to aid in the raising of my kids but feel the need to be in the pool room once in a while now...so this idea came to me and hit me like lightning! Why don't I focus a little energy on billiards photography? It's an idea which will gain respect in this area, help me to 'get my name out there', allow me to do something I enjoy once in a while, etc. etc...I can think of numerous reasons why I SHOULD do this! Hell, some of my photos might even eventually get published by a billiards magazine as long as I 'play my cards right'! Anyways, my question is what kind of lenses should be in my arsenal? I'm sure they would need to be pretty fast though there is not alot of movement. I say 'fast' due to it being an indoor sport. I'm not going to need ALOT of focal length, though my 35mm 1.8 would definitely be too shallow and I don't want to bother the players by my photos! My 50mm 1.8 might be a good start, though I really think an 85mm or maybe even 100mm would be best. Any suggestions before I go to sleep? lol
